American eCommerce’s Listing Experience team is part of the Buying Confidence team, whose broad focus is making their buyers confident in their purchase decisions throughout the transaction lifecycle. They are seeking 2 software engineers to assist with modifying their Reviews ecosystem (both acquisition and display thereof) and finding new ways to use content from other customers to help increase certainty in the purchase process.

Requirements

Full-stack web application development experience, particularly with respect to performance and accessibility 

Familiarity with API design, MVC architectures, and ORM data management frameworks 

Strong PHP (or similar modern language, e.g. Python, Ruby, Java, C# -- but PHP strongly preferred) programming experience 

JavaScript programming experience, including React and non-React (“vanilla”) JavaScript development 

Experience in experiment-driven product development (e.g. A/B testing) 

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an enthusiastic and positive attitude 

Experience collaborating with a cross-functional team

Nice to Have 

Experience with qualitative and quantitative methods for building customer confidence on web properties 

Experience with email, push, and other notification/marketing systems 

Experience with jQuery JavaScript development 

Experience developing APIs for native application clients
