Senior QA Automation Engineer 

Background

• A Senior QA Automation Engineer (QA Automation Lead) is needed to be the guardian of quality.
• You will create, own and implement a strategy for quality coordination and testing and implement solutions to identified quality problems.

• You’ll work across the full development lifecycle from participating in analysis and design through to development and delivery of production software, utilising your testing knowledge to influence better software design and promote engineering best practice with testability, accessibility, scalability and performance in mind.
• You’ll be implementing test automation frameworks that integrate with the continuous delivery workflow, writing complex scripts / code on a variety of automated test scenarios and implementing CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior QA Automation Engineer (QA Automation Lead) will be responsible for the following:

• Design, ownership and implementation of the process to proactively identify, prioritise and solve quality problems
• Creation and execution of test cases/plans within an agile environment
• Testing of APIs and web
• Collaborate closely with the Product and Software Engineering teams to ensure consistent quality is upheld
• Representation of QA in 3 Amigos sessions
•  Be a force multiplier, levelling up the QA skills of those around you
•  Identify and track KPIs to measure product quality
• Oversee continuous improvement of QA processes
• Contributing to team process in daily standups, refinement, reviews and retrospectives

Knowledge/Experience:

• You have at least five years of commercial experience as a QA Automation Engineer testing software solutions
•  You can comfortably advise on the best test strategies for various circumstances, e.g. exploratory, smoke, regression, manual, automated, etc.
•  You have experience in techniques for testing both web and APIs
• You're a self-starter with high autonomy, a sense of responsibility and are a great team player
• You can think critically, problem solve and prioritise
•  You thrive in an office or fully remote working environment
•  You have a passion for product, empathy for the end-user and a burning desire to improve the overall user experience
• You have strong test automation experience
• You have a good knowledge of testing methodologies.
• You have experience with testing tools.
• You have a good understanding of CI/CD and associated technologies such as Docker and Ansible.

Qualifications:

• An ISTQB to Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer is highly desirable
