Job Description:

Introduction


Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) is the lead apex institution for community-driven development in the country.  Set up by the Government of Pakistan as an autonomous not-for-profit organization, PPAF enjoys facilitation and support from the Government of Pakistan, The World Bank, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), KfW Entwicklungs bank (Development Bank of Germany) and other statutory and corporate donors.  PPAF aims to be the catalyst for improving the quality of life, broadening the range of opportunities and socio-economic mainstreaming of the poor and disadvantaged, especially women. The core operating units of the PPAF deliver a range of development interventions at the grassroots/community level through a network of more than 127 Partner Organizations across the country.  These include social mobilization, support for livelihood, enterprise and employment, access to credit, infrastructure and energy, health, education and disaster management. Externally commissioned independent studies have demonstrated positive outcomes and impact of PPAF interventions on the lives of benefiting communities related to their economic output, household incomes, assets, agricultural productivity skills and other quality of life indices.  


Background


A corporate profile is very important for any organization since it provides a quick look into a company, allowing diverse groups of people to get a general idea of what the company’s services areas, its target, its unique strengths, objectives, its track record, and whether it is a good entity to work with. PPAF wants to establish a corporate profile to share it with its diverse range of stakeholders, especially potential donors, government bodies and international/national humanitarian organizations.


PPAF’s responsibility/input


Communications & Media will be the focal person from PPAF for the assignment and will facilitate the consultant by: 


• Provide complete text, graphs, tables , and all necessary information for the profile  


• Facilitate the designer with timely input on the work shared by him/her 


Scope of work/output


Working closely with the PPAF Communications & Media Unit, the consultant is required to undertake the following:


• Professionally design the corporate profile for print layout


• Provide options for designing the title of the profile


• Discuss and provide options for layout of the inner pages


• Remake all the graphs, tables etc where necessary


• Revise the selected layout as discussed with PPAF 


• Submit the document to PPAF for proofreading 


• Ensure all corrections have been inserted 


• Prepare the electronic files for the printer 


• Create PDF from final electronic file for PPAF Web posting 


Deliverables


• Sharing of at least 3 options initially


• Sharing of first complete draft within 5 days of signing of contract


• Work on the approved version and share within 10 days of signing of contract


Experience & Qualification


• Bachelor’s degree in Computer arts, Graphic designing, Fine Arts, or related field


• Over 8 years solid experience in designing products (in print) such as reports, books, journals, brochures  


• Creative with an ability to come up with innovative designs/graphics


• A good understanding of using various latest software used in designing


• Ability to assess  and insert relevant infographics at appropriate places in the profile


• Ability to present data in detailed graphics and tables where necessary


Duration of assignment


The consultancy will be awarded for a total of 30 working days


Intellectual property


All information shall be intellectual property of the PPAF, which shall not be shared with any third party without prior written consent of the PPAF.


Disclaimer


PPAF shall not pay any compensation in any form except for the amount agreed as fee in the contract on assignment basis. PPAF shall not be responsible for any damages caused to the firm by any other party or by the firm to any other party during the execution of the contract .PPAF does not accept any responsibility of any other commitment made by the firm to any other party during the course of the contract.


Selection Method


An individual consultant will be selected in accordance with process stipulated in Section V of “Selection and Employment of Consultants under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers (January 2011)
