IRC has been working in Pakistan for over 30 years, and manages & delivers large, complex programs to meet needs in health, education, protection, environmental health and livelihoods for displaced, poor & conflict-affected communities. IRC works in partnership with local government and non-governmental organizations and currently works in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh provinces.
Job Overview/Summary:
Under the supervision of DRR Infrastructure Manager, the incumbent will be responsible to supervise and manage the DRR infrastructure related interventions of the BDRP project
Major Responsibilities:
1. Support line manager in preparing technical design, Bill of Quantity (BOQs), budget, tender and SOPs documents for all resilient infrastructure related activities
2. Extend technical support to other sectors and community in conducting need assessment for identification and verification of selected drought/ flood damaged location for medium and large scale Risk Mitigation Projects and priority ranking of DRR/ WASH interventions.
3. Provide technical assistance to the DRR, WASH, MEAL and Livelihoods teams for the identification, prioritization and monitoring of the infrastructure activities
4. To conduct trainings regarding operation and maintenance of facilities/ shelter for beneficiaries through coordination with VDMCs.
5. Regular monitoring of ongoing construction activities to ensure that all the activities are implemented as per design, specifications, work schedule and also contributing to resilience.
6. Keep close coordination with community mobilization, livelihoods and hygiene promotion teams.
7. Ensure storage and delivery of related materials, equipment, tools and consumables on work site and maintenance of proper records.
8. Prepare work completion report of the DRR/WASH schemes and submit to the supervisor for necessary verification, payment to the labor in a timely manner and compliance
9. Working in harmony with all other project staff and field team for the effective and efficient day-to-day management of the project
10. Prepare weekly, monthly work plans and progress reports
11. Any other tasks assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements:
Education:
BSc Engineering Preferably Civil OR Master in Life and Environmental Sciences or Bachelors in Disaster Management
Work Experience:
Total Work Experience 3 years in the DRR focused infrastructure, WASH
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
· Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
· Experience of working on DRR focused water and sanitation facilities
· Strong knowledge of local living conditions and infrastructure
· Sound knowledge of SPHERE standards
· Ability to work without close supervision
· Good Command on engineering plans, design, BoQs, layout and use of Auto Cad
· Knowledge of Computer, MS Office
Language Skills:
· Strong oral and written English, Urdu
· Local languages would be an asset
Desirable criteria:
· Work with INGOs
· Experience of working in North Sindh
