Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching & Instruction:

    • Develop and deliver engaging lectures, practical sessions, case discussions, and tutorials for Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) and postgraduate students in Clinical Pharmacy Practice.

    • Facilitate student learning in both didactic and experiential (clinical rotation) settings, emphasizing patient-centered care, pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetics, and pharmaceutical care.

    • Supervise and guide students during hospital and community pharmacy clinical rotations, ensuring the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.

    • Develop and assess student performance through various methods, including quizzes, examinations, assignments, presentations, and clinical evaluations.

    • Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.

  • Curriculum Contribution:

    • Assist in the design, development, and continuous review of the Clinical Pharmacy Practice curriculum, ensuring alignment with national and international standards and contemporary pharmacy practice.

    • Contribute to the selection and development of appropriate teaching materials and resources.

  • Clinical Practice (if applicable/required):

    • Maintain clinical competence and potentially engage in direct patient care activities within an affiliated hospital or clinic to enhance teaching effectiveness and stay current with practice standards.

    • Serve as a role model for students in clinical settings, demonstrating professional conduct and patient interaction skills.

  • Scholarly Activity (Expected Participation):

    • Engage in scholarly activities, which may include participating in research projects, quality improvement initiatives, or evidence-based practice projects related to clinical pharmacy.

    • Seek opportunities for professional growth and continuous learning.

    • Aim to present at conferences or contribute to professional publications.

  • Service & Administration:

    • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to various committees as assigned.

    • Assist in administrative tasks related to the pharmacy program (e.g., student record keeping, scheduling).

    • Adhere to the policies and procedures of the institution and regulatory bodies (e.g., Pharmacy Council of Pakistan).
